The Bhat Sikh Sandesh would be nothing without you, so we’d love to hear all about your amazing stories. We’re looking for stories about you, your family, in memory of/commeratorive, success and everything in between. All respectful stories are welcome.
The basics
- Word count: 700 – 800 words (as a rough guide)
- Typed
- MS Word
- Text File
- Stories accepted on an ongoing rolling basis, but this may mean your article isn’t published for a few months, if you’d like to publish it urgently let us know in your email.
How to pitch
Send an email to mystory@bhatsikh.co.uk and include the following:
- The word MYSTORY in the email subject
- A couple of paragraphs about you, your pitch and why you want to write about it.
- Any clips, examples of your work, blog links or even social links.
What we want
- Personal essays and opinion pieces about You or your family and background
- Funny stories, perspectives and issues we might not have considered before.
- Your opinion on political, social and topical issues that affect you.
- Poems.
- Past or Present Pictures for our Gallery, representing the Bhat sikh community
- We allow stories to be published under a pseudonym, no questions asked.
- Consent from all parties regarding all content; including but not limited to Stories and pictures.
What we don’t publish
Content which match the following criteria
- Abusive
- Offensive
- Demeaning
- Derogatory
